Tamara completed a Diploma of Business and started her career with an internationally known prestigious cosmetic company. After three promotions and seven annual awards, including nomination twice for Coca-Cola Young Retailer of the Year, she represented Australia at “The Best of the Best” in New York, before coming home to take up a HR position with a large department store.
Early in 2011, Tamara became a mum and was given a few challenges with her first son, Billy, who was diagnosed with Autism in 2013. Her career took a back seat while she focused on getting and giving Billy the help that he needed. By 2013 Billy had an active baby brother named Harry.
It was as a result of implementing Billy’s in-home intensive ABA intervention program that Tamara became extremely passionate about raising awareness about Autism, and she started the Facebook page Autism with Billy so that her family and friends could understand small glimpses of what was going on in their life. The passion for Autism kept growing which led her to working for an ABA behavioural intervention provider as Parent support, marketing and administration officer in 2015.
